ICS Furniture was founded in 1969 by Charlie Duignan, who had identified the niche in the market for a bespoke church furniture business. He gradually built the business into a unique provider of turnkey services for places of worship. With four decades of experience, the ICS team have a deep understanding of everything to do with furnishing churches , sanctuary’s and cathedrals: the variety of spaces and settings, the requirements, the sensitivities, the need to harmonise with widely varied architectural settings and details, use of the right materials, the manufacturing process, transport, installation, and so on. The company’s master craftsmen, with the help of the latest computerised technology, manufacture the furniture in our state-of-the-art factory.

Chair designed and crafted for Pope Francis
ICS Church Furnisher designed and crafted a specially commissioned chair for the Papal visit of Pope Francis to Knock in Ireland in 2018.
Having worked on the extensive refurbishment of the Basilica in 2015, the company were once again called upon to produce a special chair for Pope Francis to be used by him during his silent prayer. The chairs design is purposefully understated and crafted using a combination of maple and walnut.
The Papal crest adorns the back of the chair and the Knock shrine symbol is placed on the front. The central back panel in maple is shaped to represent Christ in life while the black walnut cross is significant in that he died for us.

ICON 40 Chair
Our latest innovation, the ICON 40 chair has been designed for the future, without compromise on style and functionality.
This chair can be stacked 40 high, can link in both straight and curved formations and comes with optional accessories such as bookshelves and trolleys which can also be stacked to reduce storage space. The ICON 40 chair can be custom finished in different types of wood as well as an option to include a bronze plated finish for traditional settings. Logos, symbols and crests can also be added to make the chair unique to you the end customer. The seat can upholstered and arms can also be added to give additional support to the end users.
