European Prize for Sacred Architecture
It will be possible to join the European Prize for Sacred Architecture within 31 May 2021.
The deadline for participation in the European Prize for Sacred Architecture has been extended. This Prize, in its ninth edition 2021, is organized by the Frate Sole Foundation; it awards every two years a project for a church of Christian worship, subject of a master's degree, doctorate and master's thesis.
The deadline for the call, which was originally scheduled for May 14, is extended to Monday, May 31, 2021.
The European Prize for Sacred Architecture is addressed to young graduates who obtained the master's degree exam after April 1st, 2018 and no later than April 15th, 2021 in the European Faculties of Architecture and in the Italian Faculties of Building Engineering.
The project documents must be submitted to the Frate Sole Foundation by May 31, 2021, and the material must be submitted using the appropriate form on the website: https://europeanprize.fondazionefratesole.org . The call is translated into Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish.
The documentation presented by the candidates will be evaluated by the Judging Commission, formed by the members of the Scientific Committee of the Frate Sole Foundation: Francesco Dal Co, Giorgio Della Longa, Esteban Fernandez Cobian, Luigi Leoni, Caterina Parrello, don Valerio Pennasso, Walter Zahner and by the winning architect of the 2020 International Prize for Sacred Architecture, Axel Frühauf.
By 15 July 2021, the Frate Sole Foundation will publish the results of the competition on its website www.fondazionefratesole.org.
In addition to the cash prize of 1,000 euros, the winner will receive a scholarship that will be used for an internship at the Meck Architekten studio, based in Munich. Meck Architekten won the International Prize for Sacred Architecture for churches built with the architecture dedicated to Blessed Rupert Mayer, built in the town of Poing, in the eastern part of the Munich district.
